About Vesim

It all began in 1962. Vivekanand Education Society (VES) – a premier education institution came into being. Conceptualized and instituted by a great humanitarian and visionary Late Shri. Hashu Advani, VES was one of the first educational institutions in Mumbai that made education accessible to students from all strata of society.

The journey that began with just 256 students is today expanded to include 25,000 students who enroll in various courses across 23 educational institutions run by VES. The year 1994 was a milestone year in the history of VES. A new-age business school-Vivekanand Education Society Institute of Management Studies and Research (VESIM) was instituted on 31st March 1994. Currently the student intake is 180 students in MMS. This allows the institute to help more deserving students, who are aiming for glorious corporate careers.

Since the inception, VESIM has been at the forefront of business studies, developing business leaders who strive to make a positive impact on companies they work with, people they meet, and the society they serve.

VESIM’s success as one of the leading business schools in Mumbai is due to its humanistic approach to management education. 1) Master Of Management Studies-

Vivekanand Education Society Institute of Management Studies and Research (VESIM) offers the Master of Management Studies (MMS) program. MMS is a two-year, full-time management program, spread over four semesters (two per year), and approved by AICTE, Govt. of India, and recognized by the University of Mumbai. The program has received NBA accreditation for academic years 2016-2017 to 2018-2022.

2) Center Of Executive Education

THE CENTRE FOR EXECUTIVE EDUCATION (CEE) at VES Institute of Management Studies and Research offers program in the areas of management, leadership and business analytics.

With the ever-changing demand of the industry, today’s managers don’t only need superior management expertise and leadership skills but also cross-functional and analytical skills along with strategic vision. The need to continuously sharpen their skills and upgrade their business acumen, to stay abreast with the industry trends and leverage upon emerging opportunities.

Our executive education programs are designed for individuals, corporates, start-ups and family-owned businesses across all levels to fulfill these ever-changing needs and demands in the industry.

Programs are delivered using a mix of our internal faculty and external industry experts who have experience facilitating learning and consulting assignment across levels and industries.

• Management Development Programmes (MDPs):

Comprehensively structured classroom sessions spanning from 2-3 days, designed to address a specific need of individuals and corporates to meet their development gap.

• Customized Training Programmes:

Also called as the In-Company program these are designed to meet the training objectives of the organization. Our custom based program focus on meeting the development needs of individuals and of teams leading to overall success of the organization. The duration of this program could range from half a day workshop to 3-5 days training to suit the requirements of client organizations.

LDPs are 3 months to 1 year duration programmes offered to graduates and working professionals who wish to enhance the special or niche skills required by organizations. The courses are a good blend of online and classroom sessions scheduled over a weekend.

• Consultancy Assignments:

We partner with client organizations to work on their consulting needs in the areas of management, operations and analytics. It helps to understand the practical aspects of management and application of academic experiences in industry and business.

Participants undergoing our programme learn from our faculty, industry experts and their fellow learners who come with a wide variety of experience. 3) PHD-




Management is a term synonymous with Business. It primarily refers to synchronization of various business activities to achieve organizational objectives and goals. VESIM’s Ph.D. Program in Management is designed for research scholars who wish to excel in Management Science by adopting various pedagogical approaches in Management Education.

Of late, there is a growing trend of connecting Management Studies with Social Sciences. This trend is largely visible in Developing countries like India. The research in the field of Management thus needs to address even the social science discipline both at Micro and Macro levels, and create sizeable impact on the society, in which it operates. Thus, it becomes necessary for top management institutes like us to address this demand, by creating a suitable platform for aspiring Management academicians and researchers. The Ph.D. program at VESIM emphasizes values, such as Professional ethics, Integrated approach, and rigor in research.

4) FDP




VESIM’s Faculty Development Program(FDP) aims at improving teaching and research capabilities of management educators employed in various business schools, universities, staff training and management institutions in India.

In the competitive economic environment, all commercial and non-commercial organizations are driven by the need to employ highly competent and skilled managers. Hence, it has become critical for management teachers to obtain in-depth knowledge on the subjects they teach their student managers.

Our FDP Program enables participants to understand advancements in research across various management disciplines, to learn about effective pedagogies, as well as acquire presentation skills - needed to become an efficient management faculty member.

All lectures are conducted by VESIM’s distinguished internal faculty, as well as external subject matter experts, with immense industry experience. The learning methodology involves a blend of lectures, role plays, presentations, real-life situation discussion, and problem-solving.

Vivekanand Education Society Institute of Management Studies and Research (VESIM) offers several certificate programs to students, graduates, and working professionals to improve their understanding with subject-focused training.

Our certificate programs help participants gain an in-depth knowledge in key areas and stay current on changes in the industry. These programs enable them to refresh their current skills and discover new ideas.
