What is NEET UG Exam?

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is an all India entrance examination conducted once a year for admission to MBBS. The NEET Undergraduate (UG) is the only entrance exam for admission to all the medical institutes spread across the country including All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) according to NMC Act, 2019. 

All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) was replaced by National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG), popularly known as (NEET-UG) from 2012 onwards. NEET is a competitive entrance exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) until 2018 for admission to MBBS and BDS courses.

National Testing Agency (NTA)

National Testing Agency (NTA) has been established as a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained testing organisation to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions.

NTA is the newly formed body by the centre to conduct JEE Main (I) & (II), NEET-UG, GPAT, UGC NET, CMAT, etc. entrance exam from 2019 onwards, taking over the management of these exams from CBSE and respective boards.

At present, 15% of the total seats in all medical and dental colleges run by the Union of India, state governments, municipal or other local authorities in India, except in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, are reserved for candidates who pass this examination. The exam is usually conducted on the first Sunday of May.

Here are the changes to be implemented for the NEET-UG exam with the Introduction of NTA:

  • From the year 2019 onwards, candidates should have to appear for NEET-UG in Pen & Paper-based test only
  • Students will have more time to prepare for their entrance exam because the exam will take place in the month of May
  • There will be a normalisation process for the calculation of scores to have fair results

    NEET UG Notification 2020

    The NTA has released the NEET UG exam information bulletin.     NEET Exam Analysis 2019

    One amongst the toughest academic entrance examinations in the country, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2019, was conducted on May 5. Over 15 lakh candidates have appeared for the written examination, which held in a single shift. The exam held across the country except in Odisha due to cyclone Fani. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon notify regarding the conduct of NEET UG in cyclone Fani hit parts of Odisha state.

    Many students across the country feel that Biology paper was easier compared to Physics and Chemistry. Many questions were directly taken from the NCERT syllabus.     NEET Physics Paper Analysis 2019

    Physics stands on top as the toughest paper compared to Chemistry and Biology. Most of the questions in Physics were tricky and conceptual. The test takers complained regarding insufficient time because of heavy calculations.

    NEET Chemistry Paper Analysis 2019

    This section seems to be moderate and there are some direct questions from NCERT books. Many students said that this is a scoring paper because of questions on simple topics. Academicians and some test-takers believe that this year's Chemistry paper was easy compared to the previous year.

    NEET Biology Paper Analysis 2019

    The Biology paper is easy for most of them due to direct theoretical questions. Students also believe that it took less time to answer because of fact-based questions. Students who are good at Microbes in Human Welfare and Cell – the unit of life chapters of Botany and Zoology will score more because of many questions from it. There are a few questions which tested the student's aptitude as well.

    NEET Result 2019

    The National Testing Agency (NTA) is vested with the authority to conduct the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) examination from 2019 onwards. The NTA is also responsible for declaring the result. Usually, it will release the NEET result a month after. Students who have appeared for the NEET (UG) examination can check their result online on the official website of NTA.

  • Visit the NEET (UG) result link on the homepage. 
  • Enter the login details such as roll number and date of birth. 
  • Download NEET (UG) result 2019 and take a printout for future reference. 


  • NEET (UG) Result 2019 Analysis

    The NTA conducted NEET (UG) 2019 on May 5 and 20 for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in Medical/Dental Colleges in India. The total number of students registered for the exam is 15,19,375 out of which, 14,10,755 appeared for the written test. A total of 7,97,042 students qualified in NEET (UG) 2019 exam.     The overall exam paper of NEET UG 2019 is a standard paper similar to previous years. There will be no major surprises in NEET 2019. Students are advised to check the NEET 2019 cut-off score along with 2018.
