What is CEED Exam?

Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay on behalf of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India to offer admission to aspirants in Master of Design (M.Des) and PhD programmes.

On the basis of a candidate’s score in CEED exam, he/she can secure admission in M.Des course at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IISc Bangalore, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur and UPES Dehradun and Ph.D programme on offer at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Kanpur.

Aspirants who have qualified GATE will also be considered for admission in M.Des programmes offered at IISc Bangalore and IIT Kanpur.

The objective of the Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) is to evaluate the candidate’s aptitude for design involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills.

CEED 2020:

The registration for CEED 2020 will start on October 9, 2019, and it will end on November 15, 2018. Whereas, the CEED 2020 exam will be held on January 18, 2020.

Application Fee:

For all Women Candidates: INR 1300 + GST
For SC/ST/PwD Candidates: INR 1300 + GST
For all Other Candidates: INR 2600 + GST

CEED 2020 Eligibility Criteria:

The applicants must have passed a degree/diploma/pg degree of 4 years or 3+2 years (after Higher Secondary) or appearing for the final examination by July 2020.

CEED 2020 Admit Cards:

Admit Cards will be available to download from the official website from the 1st January 2020 till the exam date. A candidate has to take a printout and it is mandatory to bring the admit card to the examination centre.

The examination consists of two parts, i.e. Part A and Part B. A candidate has to attempt questions from both the parts compulsory. Part A will be conducted from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and Part B from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM.

CEED 2020 Examination Cities (Tentative):

A candidate has to choose 3 cities in the order preference at the of online registration. CEED 2020 committee plans to conduct the examination in the following cities:

Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Ernakulam, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, and Vishakhapatnam.

  • Apart from above participating Institutes, CEED 2020 results will also be shared with the following Institutes, which will allow some seats in their M.Des programmes for admission through CEED 2020 for the academic year 2020-2021:
